hey, for anyone who lives in VA, i was wondering if there is a good hiking outfitters store in Roanoke. I know they have a big Gander Mountain store, but anything smaller and more specific to hiking would be great. thanks

You may try Outdoor Trails in Troutville on 220. What are you looking for anything in particular?
My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.
Not familiar with any specific stores just for outfitting, but I found the Sportsmans Warehouse had some good quality gear mixed in with other stuff. Don't remember any specific UL things except some Ti cookware. Very near Gander Mt. so could be worth a look for you.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.
I actually meant to post this thread on Whiteblaze... oops.
but I guess I am just looking at some sleeping bags and hammocks stuff, stoves, and to talk to knowledgeable people.

Outdoor Trails has a few hammocks & bags. The hammocks are Eno's & Hennessy's if I remember correctly. Their prices are the usual, kinda high specialty store pricing. Sportsman's Warehouse off of Hershberger has a few items that you may want to look at as well. Not sure how much knowledge you will actually find in the stores. It's probably better to use them to see the product & ask here & WB for the best user related info.
Hope this helps.
