Folded wire works and I use it for smaller stuff but once you start using this Dritz Loop Turner, you'll kick yourself for cheaping out on it.

I've been using the floral wire since it's free and accessable (wife's permission of course), but that loop is one awesome tool! I must see if I can get one (or 5) locally.
