Nite ize knotbone as tarp attachment?

    Just out of curiosity.

If I 'permanently' mounted two knotbones to a ridge line. Would it be possible to use them as attachment points for a tarp?

Easy on - easy off? No carabiner needed?
    Any disadvantages?

I tend to use one knotbone and a figure 9 on the other end to tighten (as one of my tarp ridgeline options). Works great though slightly heavier choice.

+1 on what Dragon360 said. Any weight difference would be negligible.

I would like to ditto on dragon360. However, I have taken it one step further. I have a continuous ridge line and the tarp is hung by prussics to the ridge line.

The head end is the knot bone and the foot end is the figure nine. Set the head end, pull the line taut using the figure nine, then center the tarp and tighten the ridge of the tarp.

I carry the tarp in bug net snake skins on the outside of my pack. I can set the tarp up without having to take the pack off. Wonderful in the rain.

I used them and then went to Dutch Flyz on a prussic. they are so easy to use and work like a charm.

I also use one knotbone and one figure9. the knotbone goes up first, then I can tighten with the figure 9 as needed. Super easy.
