PapaSmurf is awesome! He says my body is done (#69)... My wife begs to differ!
I have a dangerbird on my wish list. I loved the one you made for the Carolina spring swing. It was hard to give away.
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.
Nuts.... I was order #99.
Congrats PapaSmurf. You make a great product from what I can see, and I'm glad to hear you are selling them.
Looking forward to #90!
On custom work:
In the late 70s and early 80s, in addition to building custom Rodriguez and Erickson frames in-house, R+E Cycles also brought in unpainted frames from Europe which they finished and decaled as "house brand" frames. There was no deception about it, the customer was always told where their frame was made. It gave people the choice of a less-expensive frame that could be had much sooner. The waiting list for a custom tandem got to be as long as 3 years during the time I was making them all myself one at a time.
22 May 2012, in "Classic Rendezvous", a very active list on pre-1983 road bikes hosted by North Carolinian Dale Brown, from a comment by Mark Bulgier giving assistance in dating a frame.
Appropriate smilies implied.
Patiently waiting with baited breath...
Thanks Randy!!!
Got my Dangerbird 60 today upon our return from vacation. Haven't hung it up yet (way too freakin' hot today @ 104 F) but I hope to get it up tomorrow if we can get away to the mountains. I did stretch it out in the house and I really appreciate all the freebies you were so kind to give me!
Thanks again!!!
