    It started working again and I'm not going to argue with it anymore tonight.

    Yep... that's a upper tension problem in all probability. You may have forgotten to put the presser foot down. When raised, the presser foot disengages the upper tension plates. If that was the case... believe me you are not alone. My professional seamstress wife will occasionally do the same thing. I've done it more times than I can count.

    The presser foot was down. I think the tensioner was not engaging though. I looped my finger behind the thread and I felt the tensioner grab the thread. It started working then so I think that for some reason the tensioner just didn't have the thread right.

    Most of the time with problems like these rethreading seems to take care of it. Glad to hear it's working again!
