    74 mile sht hike-new tarp

just got back from a 2 week stay in the woods.i was going for another 2 weeks but my knee blew out.the 2 weeks were great.saw a porcupine, mooose[three o's i was looking up]and watched a crow steal an egg from a nest.the trout fishing was good too.it was a great time.

heads up on a new motel in beaver bay.camp 61.they have 30 dollar bunk rooms.single bed with bath rooom.40 on week ends.but the owner is willing to drop you at the trailhead for aday or multyday hike.its .8 miles down hill to beaver bay from the trail head.its 13 miles from splitrock back to beaverbay.
i did some slackpacking after i twanged the knee.

a big thank you to Joe and Sheryl at Z Packs. i tested my massive new z pack 12 x14 foot cuben tarp .i call it the taj.awning it out and wow i could get a cub scout troop under this thing.right under a pound.its made with 1 0z cuben instead of the .51.the 1 has 3x as muck deemea fiber as the .51.its a little bullet proof.

a big tip of the hat to hammock gear.i picked up a 20* top marshmallow to sleep under.what a fine piece of work.

a warning the new camelbac blatters suck .the new o ring design is no good.they have ruined a great product.the o rings are gone and in its place is this folded tissue of silicon .sucks to no end.

That's awesome you saw so much wildlife. What sections did you do? Also, any photos?
