When you use old paracord for your first hammock experiment and ignore the sound of the inside strands breaking one at a time be thankful it had sagged to within inches of the ground when it breaks all the way.

Yeah....that's sorta why we don't use it. You might notice that gets mentioned from time to time.
And by the way....being new to the forum we'll forgive you this time, but you're suppose to video these experiments and post them up for our amusement.
My first hammock camping experience was an old bedsheet triple-strung with paracord. It never did break, but then again I had pretty much sagged to the ground by the time morning rolled around. That experience led me to look around to find a way to hang without sagging or without freezing to death (even though it was summer).
Now here we are
You might try mule tape, or make some amsteel whoopie slings--no stretching/breaking. After all, it is more fun when you stay up in the air (less painful too).

You're gonna need a bigger hammock
I used it for just the ends on a gathered end style. If I filmed all my mishaps you'd see me on Americas dumbest tv show.
