    Frayed Whoopies

Hi. I posted this down on the Hennessy forum and didn't get any bites, so maybe it belongs here instead. I purchased a used hammock that had the whoopie conversion done to it already. I don't know anything about whoopie slings, but where they connect to each other, the rope looks a little thin. I am posting pics. Now, this could be perfectly normal, but I wanted to get some experts to look at it before I head out for a week. I added one picture to show how the conversion was done in case that matters.

    Thanks in advance!

That would probably hold you but it should be replaced IMO. That area is the weakest part of the whoopie sling and if failure were to occur, that would be where it would happen.

I would second replacing them. Twice a week at my chiropractor would be WAY more than new whoopie slings.

    re: Frayed Whoopies

Okay. That doesn't make me happy I am supposed to leave in a few weeks. Sigh. Okay. Thanks so much everyone for the information. I am going to check out the videos and see if I can do this.

Have any of you done a whoopie conversion on a hennessey? It seems like the way it was done has created a gathering down the center of the hammock. Let me attach some pics so you can tell me what you think. If I am going to replace the whoopies, I can fix that if it needs it right (she says with false confidence)?

It does not look like the previous owner followed the instructions for HH Whoopie conversion. That burnt-through hole is not utilized, which I certainly utilized when I did my whoopie conversion.

As long as the instructions are followed, you should not see any more bunching than one would see with the stock Hennessy suspension.

Okay. Again, thanks for the help! I just went over to the whoopiesling site. I am nervous. It looks complicated. I'm going to hang this up in my livingroom, but at first glance, I don't know if I need the all-in-one system or just the slings. Will it be obvious once I hang it up and look? I know I have the whoopiesling tree huggers, not the HH treehuggers.

The change over is very easy, just follow the video's. Should take you about 5 minutes. All you need are a set of slings.

Talk to the good folks at whoopieslings, and let 'em know you have a hennessy.
    Your hammock takes "special" slings.
