How to hang UQ yeti

I just got my warbonnet Yeti UQ yesterday and I'm trying it out now. But as I'm hanging it, it seems like the shockcord is way too short. My ridgelines is hanging loose now the UQ is attached. Is that normal? Or do I need to extend the shockcord that came with the UQ with a piece of amsteel or whatever?

Probably your ridgeline is hanging loose because the Yeti is lifting the UNOCCUPIED hammock up.
Once you get into the hammock this will change.

Haha! I figured the unoccupied part out myself. ;-) But I was afraid to stretch the shockcord out too far once I got in there. Or is that (almost) impossible?

He shows his yeti, but not of him hanging it or using it in this video, however at the 5:19 mark he goes into partial underquilts and demonstrates with his "Franken Quilt" which would serve your purposes.

The Yeti is minimalist perfection. Mines got the patina of being carried from PA to CT.
Some have had problems with the shoulder slip. I'm broad shouldered and this has never happened to me. You have a fine piece of kit there, enjoy in the piney wood.

You don't have to worry about over stretching the shock cord unless you have a very long hammock. It was made for your WBBB and as others have stated, will lift it up until you get in.

The yeti is a great quilt. Its my goto most of the time. As mentioned its made for the WBBB -- the shockcord is fine no need to adjust its size .

Throw a tq in there or your pack & you can see it come to shape almost before you get in hammock. Enjoy!
