I'm all for that, but have learned some businesses are just doing false advertising. Often it's only active duty, but you have to read the fine print. Other times it's supposed to be anyone who served and was honorably discharged.

But my father found out different at Lowe's. Tried to use the only military ID he has (from WWII, pre-photo-ID days, in other words) and Lowe's told him "too bad."

He served in the Pacific in WWII and Lowe's expects him to have gotten a photo ID???? His photo drivers license and Navy ID card with full name and fingerprint wasn't enough for them. He's pretty disgusted with them right now. He's 86 and still does his own home repairs. Won't be using Lowe's again.

It's easy to hate the deceptive practices of many American businesses.
