    best hammock sleep yet!

This weekend I did an overnighter on the AT here in NJ. What a sleep! I used the wallyworld egg crate pad cut down to 2/3 the original size. The pad was perfect I used it two weeks ago full size and it was a pain, interefered with the HH opening. Cut down was perfect, didn't interfere with anything, kept me nice and warm, my legs off the pad was fine because the sleeping bag doesn't really compress. My buddy slept with out the pad he was cold, oooh to bad, hehe. He's getting a pad!

I'm getting there the learning curve is flattening out!

Works for fair weather.... do not expect warm legs in the winter with this approach...

    hammock success

I figured I could get 40 degrees out of this, and I'm a leg moving, bent knee sleeper so I'm assuming no compression and isn't it the compression that causes loss of loft and cold sleep?

I am saving for the nest, despite the order "no more hiking stuff" yes dear, hehe.

This is not "hiking stuff".... it is sleeping stuff.... I know... it may be a minor detail... but any port in a storm and anything to feed an addiction.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I too used the walmart egg crate pad saturday night. Thank God I had it. We got to camp and a thunderstorm set in for a few hours.

My pad wasn't trimmed down so it was a pain to get it the way i needed, but when I did I was able to sleep comfortably even though I was damp. Kudos to my mountain hardware sleeping bag as well!

    Walmart isn't all bad!
