    Another newbie needs a recommedation

I'm looking at buying a tarp that would be large enough for my ENO Single. After some shopping around I found a couple that I think may work for me. I'd like some imput from you guys and gals on these. I'd like to get a 3 or 4 season, but they seem to be expensive. I'm on a VERY tight budget right now.

this past weekend I saw some folks with hammocks on the AT using the blue poly tarps you can buy from wal-mart

Of the two you linked, the Kelty is a better tarp for hammock use and can be used in winter mode with doors.

This tarp would be for backpacking. Thanks for the quick replys! I'm going to take a trip to the local REI store in Nashville and see what they have. I'll do that in the next few weeks. I'm pretty sure they will have the Kelty tarp and a few others I can look at. I've got an old blue tarp, but I use it to cover my firewood with and I'd rather keep it that way.

make sure you check the for sale section of the forum and the vendors section in case someone may have a sale going on.

You would get a better tarp here than you would at REI.

Has green silnylon tarp for under $30. I don't think you could build it for that price. Good luck!

If you're referring to the tarp in this thread, it's not silnylon. As far as I know SG does not have a silnylon tarp.

Wow I didnt realize there were that many tarps out there. I'm going to keep looking, but the 20 bucks for a starter tarp is awesome. I'll see if I can dig the money up for that to get started.
