    Looking for a good tarp

Ive been looking for the past few weeks for tarps for my HH hammock. The original square tarp has too little cover for the rain. I was thinking about getting the HH hex tarp or the "oldman winter" tarp. If you know of anything better please let me know. Hahah
    Thanks

Read a few more posts and threads here before you go shopping. You're only limited by your budget and weight requirements. There are dozens of different tarps that offer more coverage. As a general rule the bigger the tarp, or the lighter the tarp, the more it costs.

My personal favorite is the Arrowhead Equipment Hard Rock winter tarp in the 12 foot length. It is not cuben, and it is not cheap, but it is one fantastic tarp. I have it and an OMW the OMW is my loaner tarp. here is a link.

Warbonnet Superfly is one of my personal favorites. You will definitely not be disappointed.

Never read anything bad about any of the tarps sold by the vendors here. From personal experience the Warbonnet and OES tarps are great.

You are lucky in that you really cannot go wrong with the vendore choices here. I am lucky enough to have a few different tarps from different vendors and no complaints.

I have had the OMW tarp for a bit now and really like it....just picked up a tadpole also and I think it will be my go to tarp for summer hanging.

    So many grerat choices.

Decide if you need a diamond or a retangular shape ?

Do you need a tarp with doors for rain/snow ?

Are you a gram counter? ....then go cuben

I own two Diamond and two retangluar tarps (one of which has doors).

I would like to get a cuben tarp but its not in my budget.

It really depends on what you want to spend. If it were me I'd go for the cuben but I'm a gram counter. If budget was a consideration I'd looking into a JRB or an OES. Then their is always DIY. What season do you want the tarp for? That will tell you if you need doors or not. Lots of great vendors lots of great choices.
