Nice. It'd be really great if the spreadsheet could do the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius c=(f-32)*(5/9)

Just to let you know that I am ok at maths and a wizz at google sheets etc
so if you want this maintained and updated I would be happy to develop it further,
I have already done a version with metric values for my own interest.
If anyone could contact CatSplat and ask if it would be ok if you are interested.
Cheers

Ok I am trying to contact CatSpat to see if its ok to mod the sheet,
but in the mean time here is a V3 version with Imperial / Metric, Conversion Calculator, Total Fabric Calculator, Cost Calculator and some other stuff.
Click here for Google Sheets version always the latest.

So I'm wondering what the value, beyond esthetics, is oh having chamber max height taller than baffle heights in an underquilt?
Thoughts?
I think it helps with the differential cut, allowing more curve to the outer than the bottom, along with the wider baffle spacing. Helps curve around the hammock nicely, when its pulled up high or a lower setup.

The difference between "max height" and "baffle height" is basically what makes this a differential cut. Having extra material at the top of the chamber allows the quilt to curve around the hammock widthwise without causing the chamber to crush down past the height of the baffles and thus reduce insulation.
Just as an FYI, I got a PM today that one of the user-modified versions of my sheet (this one was called "v3.1") may have an error in the calculations, I haven't seen that version of the sheet yet to verify, but if you're using it (or created it) this is the PM I got so you can double-check things.
Keep on making great quilts folks, no matter what sheet you use! There have been some really incredible DIY UQs that have been made over the last while, HF sure has some talented members!I downloaded what is said to be your calculator "CatSplat's Differential Cut Underquilt Calculator V3.1" and I think there is an error in it (due to my measurements with a quilt I just made). The first is in cell n24. The equation says "(H9 + (C16 * 2)) + (((C17 ) + 0.5) * 2)" and I believe it should say "(H9 + (C16 * 2)) + ((C17 *2) + (C16 * 2))". The second on is in cell p24. It says "(J9 + (C16 * 2)) +(((C17 * 2) + 0.5) * 2)" and I am thinking it should say "(J9 + (C16 * 2)) + ((C17 *2) + (C16 * 2))". (As a note, it may not even need the second "(C16 * 2)". When I put my quilt together I had too much material and had to either cut it out or sew in in a way that it didn't affect the other parts.
I really appreciate your effort with working on this calculator and wanted to help in case this was an error and others would be affected by it. Thanks again for your efforts!
Where is the latest version of your calculator? My sheet still uses the Beta posted in this thread (post #1), and I don't see a link to an update anywhere.
In this version cells n24 and p24 are empty.
Sorry, should have been more clear - the "v3.1" was done by a different user, I only ever did up to the v0.2 Beta. I think Tacblades created it, he asked to modify the sheet and I said I was OK with that (and still am, just as I'm OK with your additions) but I urged him to create a new thread for it so he could maintain his version properly. Maybe I should have just had him rename it entirely if he's going to make changes or at least clearly identify himself as the creator in-file.
The user who PM'd me sent me this link the file, I haven't had a chance to go over it yet.

If anyone can help me ...:P
I have just got in to "The Hammock World" and am trying to make an UQ.
Going through the forums and have came across this UQ calculator.
I've filled in the L x W under INPUT and now looking at the FABRIC CALCULATOR section trying to make sense of it :P.
These are my Dimensions for my UQ:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...DmM/edit#gid=4
I've looked over this and gone through many self drawn diagrams to try to work out the correlation between what ive entered and the output (fabric calculator).
Here are the problems i have:
-i thought that the Outer shell fabric will always be longer in length to the inner shell, but output (Fabric Calculator !!) shows it opposite.
-don't know the difference between Inner shell, outer shell and baffle fabric.
-how the baffle fabric Output was calculated.( I've calculated the Hb + OWB x The number of baffles and have come up with a complete different number.
Picked up on a minor error ... should be CM instead of M (meter), its highlighted in Red on my spread sheets with my UQ dimensions.
