    Backpacker Mag "How to"

Or as I like to call it: Backpacker Ragazine.

I did not watch the entire video, but what I saw was enough. The two guys doing the video (BP Rag personnel) were totally clueless. In the first seconds after showing how to hang "Any knot will do" says they (a JRB Bridge) The guy in the hammock was on the ground due to a failed knot. No surprise there. Then he started yammering about lack of comfort & insulation & I stopped watching.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Wow what a joke. I can't belive backpacker magazine posted that. Alot of misguiding info regarding hammocks.

5years ago I gave up on the AD-AGAZINE. Have not looked back since. Our tenderfoot scouts at least know and can tie the basic knots to solve most camping issues.

And that's why I stopped my subscription to that rag.
Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.

Wow, you'd think that they would have at least read and mastered the JRB instructions on how to hang it... Secondly "banana" with no insulation on "other" hammocks??? Seriously?

Many years ago, I signed up for a one year subscription to BP magazine. I quit reading them after the 2nd issue that I received. I was so glad when the subscription expired because they were taking up too much room in my recycle bin. I see nothing has changed.

    Gotta keep something in mind:

Interest is more than what a bank charges you for borrowing money.

This magazine makes a LOT ad money from LARGE tent manufacturers.....So, they are in part responsible to make sure the ad money spent with them benefits their advertisers. If their advertisers don't see a reasonable ROI from their ad expense with them, they'll jump ship......and take their sack of cash with them.....

SO, it's in their best INTEREST to slam hammocks really because, well, eno can't put the kind of money into ad revenue that north face, marmot, mountain hardware all combined can....
