    Algonquin Trip!

Did a 3 night trip in APP last weekend, first trip with my HH. I can now say from experience that I have never had a more comfortable sleep camping! Not to mention it takes up hardly any space in my kayak.

All in all it was a good trip, a little windy the first couple days, and it rained the first night we were there (I stayed dry, didn't even wake up while it was raining!). No bugs where we were camping, but one of the portages was particularly buggy. Some wildlife spottings, couple deer, and the rump of a bear running off into the woods... must have smelled me coming, being day 4 of the trip and all .

    Couple pics...
My camping "rig" lol. Handled the trailer + 4 guys pretty well!

    Dinner the first night...

    Some ground dwellers

    My setup:

    Boats...

    A view from a site...

Can't wait for more hammock camping! A couple friends tried out my HH while there, and I think there are soon to be a couple more hangers in the world!

Nice pics! Good to hear your first trip with your HH worked out well. I love Algonquin. Started going there 20 years ago. Where was that site with the stone fireplace?

Yeah it was an awesome trip! And your right, it is Rain Lake, on the island at the far east end of the lake. We have stayed on that site 3 or 4 times now, and on looking at the old stone chimney this time, it looks to be in ROUGH shape... not sure how much longer it will be standing.
