Friends,
I just made it back from a 3 day on the Pinhoti Trail, Section (or Sector) 7. This is the first trip I took along my trusty GPS Hiking app from Trimble Outdoors and was able to document while I went.
Good places to hang, and a real challenge hiking up hill from North to South.
Here is a link to the Trip Report: http://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/1686715 - Check it out and let me know what you think of the application reports.
This is a nice trail, but some parts are not maintained well. There are some good views, and fun water spots on the North side of the trail. Once you hit the South half of the section it is ALL CLIMBING, and limited water (North to South).
Poison Ivy is all over, and grows into the trail. Wear pants if you are in ivy season, and want to try to avoid it.
Bottom Line - I would do it again, but would go North to get the good views, and then end up with pleanty of water and nice camp sites.
