Ok, I have made an epic fail. I purchased only 4 yds of silnylon for a DIY tarp. It is 65" wide. Any suggestions on how I should cut and sew this to have a decent sized tarp, or should I bite the bullet and purchase another 4 yds? I have checked out the thread on a diagonal seam and thinking maybe that is the best route.
What hammock are you trying to cover? I made a minimalist tarp for my WBBB with only 4 yds. of 67" wide 1.1 silnylon. it's not the tarp to take on an expected wet trip, but it saves weight when it's not supposed to rain and will keep the hammock dry. I'm now mostly using a larger hammock and that tarp won't get the job done.

I am about to complete my first DIY WBBB. Hope to try it out in a week or 2 with my boys. Unfortunately they will still be in a tent while I'm hanging.
Buy the material... you'll be happy you did... worst case, get a cheap poly tarp if you run out if time...

I was going to try it with 4 yards of Cuben Fiber, but the shorter roll width of 54" kills the coverage.I might still do it in Sil-Nylon at 62" wide.
If I had the fabric in hand, I'd be sewing right now, not typing.

You may get some ideas from his thread, but he used 15 feet of fabric. Good luck!!!
