    Isle Royale 5/11/12 - 5/18/12

Here is a small album from our trip... 65 miles hiked total... overall, I'm speechless on how to effectively convey the magnitude of how epic this place is.

Day 1... Rock Harbor to Lane Cove - 7 miles
Day 2... Lane Cove to West Chickenbone - 13 miles
Day 3... W. Cbone to Hatchet Lake - 8 miles
Day 4... Hatchet to Lake Desor - 8 miles
Day 5... Desor to Washington Creek (Windigo) - 10 miles
Day 6... Voyager II water taxi from Windigo to McCargo Cove (a 3hr tour...ha) then a hike to Lake Richie - 6 miles
Day 7... Lake Richie to Three Mile - 10 miles
Day 8... Three Mile to Rock Harbor - 3 miles

    Enjoy!

First video should be done and posted this weekend. Boudah is spot on, I am still processing the adventure. The weather was beyond fantastic! And the the trail, was in great condition. I shall return!
Its a proven fact that 78.4% of all statstics are made up on the spot.

    I saw 6 moose total!

You know I'm a picture man... Talk to Stone. ha

Temps were great. High of 60's to what felt like 90 in the day time... High 30's to high 40's at night except for Washington Creek.... that was cold night... we hiked the Greenstone for days and bearly had a cloud in the sky... I had SPF 50 on every day, and still got sunburn!!! It was insanely awesome weather, we had a total of 20 minutes of mild weather the whole week...

Great pics. Sounds like perfect hiking and camping weather. I am so jealous. Isle Royal is on my bucket list of hikes. Can't wait for the videos.

This album is only just a tid bit. I took 1300+ pictures!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't rush perfection, Stone has SOOOOOOOO much video to edit (plus the clips I'm about to give him off my camera!)... as well as his own insane amount of pictures.

I went for a dip in Lake Desor, and Lake Richie.... it was way cold, but the overwhelming smell of foot and frumundacheese was enough to get me to suck it up and go for it!

The proper term was discussed. It is Moose.

Oh, and there is video of the swiming.

Great pictures! I've been to I.R. twice; first about 30 years ago and again about 5 years ago. Last time I called and asked about using a hammock. I was told that hammocks are not allowed. The first place we camped a young man at the next site was using a hammock.

When I go back this August I will use my new (came today) WBBB. I will alos use my JRB 10X11 tarp and Old Rag Mtn quilt. I'm not sure about bottom insulation yet. I've only used my old hammock in warm weather.
