    Hammocking In The UK

Hey everyone, I have been looking around on here and notice that most people on here are from the good ol' US of A.

I was wondering how many people there are on here from the UK and more specifically if there is anyone from the northern half of Scotland?

    Hello from Victoria!

    Welcome to Hammock Forums,

Although I'm not quite in the north half of Scotland, I'm sure that you'll find plenty of friends in the forums.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

I am new to hammocking however I would like to think I am reasonably experienced in the ways of bushcraft and lightweight ground dwelling. I am looking forward to learning the tricks of the trade.

I am using a DD Camping Hammock, DD MC Tarp with a 4 Season Down sleeping bag.

I think the first thing I will be making is an UQ, I have been very interested in the DIY section with converting a regular sleeping bag to a UQ. I was out the other week without one and the temp dropped to about -1 C (30 F) and was very comfortable. However this is Scotland and I would like to be able to get out and about when I feel like it not when my gear dictates.

Welcome from PA in the USA. I know that I've seen a few from Scotland posting.

Hello and welcome from Nairn :-)

I'm new to the hammock too.
I got a couple of overnight trips under my belt using a sleeping bag peapod style earlier in the year when it was still frosty and got on well
My setup is not midge proof so I'm waiting for the cold to come back so I can get out again ;-}ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338839554.471223.jpg
