neo, I explained to you in a nice way that it wasn't that quoting was a bad thing, it was just when you quote a long post, especialy when there are lots of pictures.
Others have to scroll all the way back through the long, original post just to see your breif comment & any other posts that follow.

I don't know about people complaining about you but I see Slowhikes point. I use the quote option a lot but do not use it on very long post that other people have posted. It is just my opinion but it is annoying to have to scroll through a very long post that was quoted to read another persons reply.

It does get annoying to scroll through a long quote to see a one line reply agreeing. Just type in the reply window. One less click and one less page to load. Plus saves on server data space with not saving the same info over and over.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

If "whining" is necessary, then a moderator or administrator (ATTroll) would be the right person to lodge a complaint with. That's part of what they do. That aside, I have to agree with the others. It's more than a little annoying to scroll through a long post, especially one that is word-intesive and/or has a lot of pictures (again) just to see a reply. Just reply to the thread, it's that easy. No fussing or groaning going on behind anyone's back, just saying, that's all.

........slowhike IS a moderator. An oversight, I'm sure.

No oversight at all. It was my point to begin with. But thanks for trying.

While we're at it... I wish folk would use smaller picture files in their posts. On a computer screen your eyes can't see the difference between a 2+ meg picture file and a 100 kb file, but my wireless lan and my older generation pc certainly can!!! Lots of software out there to convert huge files to smaller files for posting. Go ahead and take the hi res pictures for yourself and for printing, but please take that one small step before posting. I sometimes have to wait minutes for all the pictures to load.

Neo - No problems man, keep on posting, just use the button on the bottom left, instead of the button on the bottom right.

I like to quote other people too, but I edit the quoted text and remove the images and delete all text that has nothing to do with what I am going to say, leaving only the section I really want to repeat.
I hope this may help others.

When mods are trying to make the forum work better, it is best to listen to what they have to say, try to cooperate, and thank them. It has to be very time consuming and I hope the mods realize they are greatly appreciated for what they do. This forum has so much traffic, I don't know how they keep up with it but I doubt this forum would be here without them.
