Which one are you looking at? I know their tarps have a lot of tie-out points. That means carrying extra stakes.

that's a cool looking tarp but i've stayed away from it for at least three reasons...
    1) all those tye-outs would complicate set-up
    2) all those deep cuts are going to mean noticeably less coverage in blowing rain
    3) it's not silnylon so you get less coverage but more weight.

for a few bucks more, i believe you could get better coverage w/ less weight w/ something like the mac cat.
    just my thoughts

i've been well pleased w/ the two i made (w/ the help of a seamstress friend).
of course if i had the cash i might just buy one of those mac cats... that is if brian is still in production. and that would be good to know because another friend of mine is considering buying a mac cat.

I was really surprised with how well my tarp came out. Even with all of my mistakes. I think that if you have successfully sewn a couple other projects, a tarp is doable.

After the tarp I made survived the 50+ mph winds at Mt. Rogers, I know that it will hold up. Mine has a few mistakes also, but it made it through a grueling test unscathed.

50 mph?? Are you kidding? It was WAY worse than that!! I think we hit the eye wall around the same time Jeff was dunking his quilt in the creek...100 mph at least! And don't you remember the tornados???
