What guyline recomendations do you have for a Superfly tarp? line and shock cord. Closing in on a Section hike in the SNP on the AT and trying to close all the unknown areas.

oh yeah. This will be our first hike with Hammocks and tarps! That's kind of why I need to know the low down on this!

We just use 50' of some fine braided line i got in a hunting shop...dont know what it is...as a continuos ridge line no hardware style. For the guy lines just using the line that came on our HH Hex tarps...around the stake and a slippery tautline hitch to tension. Super simple and the only hardware needed are the stakes.
Might add some shock cord tensioners...have not needed them yet so...? I have to get up every four hours or so and stretch my back (fused) in a bed or hammock so have made a habit of check all lines when I am up.

I got 1/8" reflective line that came in a 4 pack with proper sized figure 9 clips. each line is like 6' long, or so. They are the cat's pajamas.

Zing-it is a popular choice because it is small diametre, strong, does not stretch and spliceable. You can use almost any line but know what you are using so you can work with it. Years ago I used paracord for eveything. It stretches but I used to account for it and it worked ok. Most nylon cordage will stretch at first and stretch some more when wet.

Another thing to take into account is the silnylon of the tarp will stretch when first set up and after it rains so either be prepared to retighten your lines or buy/make some self tensioning lines.
