Video: Superior Hiking Trail June 2012

Just spent a few days hiking on the SHT. Did parts of the Caribou River section, The Beaver Bay section, and Section 13. Weather wasn't the best but my gear worked great.

A special Thanks to Adam and Jenny for all the work they did to get my M50 20 degree pheonix to me in time for my trip. It is an AMAZING piece of kit. 15.3 ounces of downy goodness. The new suspension/draft collars are dead simple to use and draft proof. Unmatched craftsmanship and customer service.

*Warning - Bluegrass content. Proceed with caution.

Well one night there were wolves howooooooooling. After a particularly woo-ish one, I just had to add in "BUDDY!" Saw a wolf track where I had gotten water earlier. BIG!

It was nice to hit several sections. The shuttle has a 3 day pass for one stop day hikers that works out pretty well for seeing a lot of stuff.

Thanks for watching it. One of my life ambitions is to get down your way and go walkabout for a month.

Thanks for watching it. I saw a lot of wildlife this time but couldn't get any of them pesky critters to hold still long enough for me to get the camera out. Saw a Beaver, a badger, a few partridge, a very up close and personal deer encounter, many vultures, a big owl of some sort.(white face and belly) and a large redtail hawk. By far, more wildlife than any trip, ever.

It is a great trail and well worth the trip. Get the guide book if you go. It is entirely worth it.

Thanks for watching, Shug. I do love me some Stanley Brothers. I agree that fall is THE time to hit the SHT. It is something to behold when the colors start.
