First Set Up w/ New Tarp

Still needs some adjustment. I was thinking an extra long hammock would be more comfortable, but I think this may be a little too long.

looks good. With how low you are there's not much risk of getting hurt in a hammock/suspension failure, but you seem a long way from the tarp if you get a windy rain.

What part of PA are you in?

Yeah, hanging a little lower than I wanted. Still trying to get the suspension right. We're in PGH area.

Might have to stake the tarp lower in windy rains.

I started on my first one with 3 yrds of material, then hemmed, gathered and whipped the ends. It was OK, but I needed one for the GF too, so on my 2nd try I figured I would go a little longer and let her keep the 1st one.

The one in the picture was 4 yrds of material with a channel on each end through which I ran the whipping (Was just trying to give the ends a cleaner look). I am thinking I need to shorten it by at least a foot or maybe two.

Still trying to get the right ratio of suspension length, height on the tree, ridgeline and hammock length.

Add a structural ridge line. It will let you adjust for less than optimal tree spacing.

    Otherwise looks good. ;-)

Otherwise hammock looks good but the tarp is short. ;-))
