    The (usually) right way to use the huggers is to slip one end through the loop of the other end and tie to the single loop, so that the hugger grips the tree very tightly when loaded. e.g. Hennessey's instructions tell you to use them differently for some reason I haven't fathomed yet, and his way you could get slippage on smoother or looser barks pretty easy.

    I wish the wisdom in this thread could be condensed into a Setup Manual so we have these things to refer to when setting up out where internet access and experimentation time are not available.

    Ipod and PDFs; great combo. I carried my guide in this format plus a couple of knot diagrams.
