Newbie needs help and advice on hanging

    Hi,
Trying to learn how to hang the hammock properly. I have tried multiple tree pairs but I either have the hammock nearly straight or my butt drags the ground. Can you look at the photo and give me some tips?
    Thanks,
    Tonks

It is difficult to tell from your picture. Can you post some more with your suspension in it hooked to the trees so we can see the entire setup?

I will have to setup again tomorrow. It is raining and I have no tarp. Will shoot from every angle. Thank you for looking.

Some suggestions might be to get new suspension or get a SRL (structural ridge line). SRL solved most of my problems with sag

Butt dragging on the ground? Hang your hammock straps higher on the tree. Are your trees bending when you get in the hammock? Can't tell from the picture.

    Or are your straps stretching?

Simplest quick fix would be to use a ridge line to help set things as "known" & then keep eliminating the other issues.
Perhaps in the mad scramble for sexy light weightness I and everyone else has forgotten the most important function of gear – not that it must weight nothing, look good and be cheap, but that it must keep you alive and increases your survivability.

I am taking photos of the setup today for closer analysis. It has been pointed out that the camera work here(my own) is shoddy and creates the possibility for advice error. I don't think my straps are stretching, they are from Dutch. I think my problem is the angle of the hang. I am trying the three stride method, then reaching over my head but I cant get the lay richt, it is uncomfortable. Also, the ridge line is too tight even at its longest and the under quilt practically creaks when attached.
