Here is the story behind the flags:

This is not where I'd buy them but it does have a good explanation as to their meaning.

See them flying over a campsite and you might very well find me nearby...it has become something for which I am well known with my fellow backpackers...

I think my favorite picture of the flags was this one taken at Devil's Tower from inside my tent:

there were allot of tree's in front of tent where was the Clark?

    Wow Mata,

I had testicular cancer 2 years ago, and after my surgery, had a few rounds of Chemo. Mine wasn't all that bad, and I no where felt good enough to go hanging. I am proud of you for not staying down, even after your stuff went missing. Sounds like you had a great trip, and a good nights hang. I love your setup too, looks wonderful and comfy.

I'm going to jump on the wagon here and wish you the very best of luck. We never met even though I used to live not that far away (was in Minneapolis but now in Ashland OR) But you are unforgettable. On the forum, you once recommended a "very attractive nose cozy."

Now who could forget a smile like that?

I expect to see many more for many years to come.

Mata, Thanks for sharing your story. I am a cancer survivor too. Was on chemo going on eight years. Bladder cancer, but my chemo was not that bad. Since quitting the treatments my strength is back and so is my memory and my mind. I am glad you are feeling better and pray you get better and better. "Live long and prosper." (Spock) Steve
