I love it. By the way, thank you Bannerstone for making me so damned curious about your awesome set-up I just had to figure out how you did it. I'm hooked on Locked Brummels and line splices. Coolest thing I've learned in quite some time. Oh, I'm still a novice, but one day...

I still use nacras to attach my guylines too, they are just so simple and reliable.

If I'm understanding this, I see no shackle in your Dutch shackle prusik. It's just a loop on one end for a prusik, and a Dutch Hook spliced onto the other end. A very handy idea, nevertheless.

The shackle or coupling is formed when the hooked end is brought around an object and fastened back to the larger loop.

    I hope this helps,

So you came up with this. Dutch asked me to make these a few months ago. (I have been away from the forums for a bit). First thing I asked was why not just use a Flyz, or hey the new Stingerz. But of course he said that many DIY folks like to go super lightweight, so good idea. I made a set with just a bit of difficulty in making the second loop until I came up with the idea of using a single strand of zing-it to pull the other loop through. Works great now.

I've made two loops with 2.2 zing it and the fist one came out great but the second one just seems all stretched out. I do like the size of the dutch hook but maybe it is just too small for my old eyes.

Thanks for the idea though, I'll keep trying.

Great idea! I think I would probably just make a continuous loop from some zing it and larks head it on to the Dutch hook though, have you tried this method? Seems to me it would give me the option of using the Dutch hook elsewhere if I decided to change my setup.....I like options.
