How to hang two hammocks with spreader bar

Hey guys, I'm planning on trying to hang two hammocks close together but using a spreader bar of some sort between the suspension lines. I have seen a few photos on here but was looking for some specifics or do's or don't's.

Hopefully I will be trying this out in my backyard tomorrow night! My Wife and I are trying out two Blackbirds and a Superfly Tarp. I will let you Know how it works out. I think it should be fine in fair weather but I am not sure about foul weather. I will need to experiment. I have seen some good pictures of two hammocks and 1 tarp!

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for. I'm glad to know that I can use my hiking poles. Now, I just need to figure out how i'm going to attach them to the whoopies.

I just used a loop of cord larks headed onto the suspension then larks headed onto the hiking pole.
Works fine with me and the BOSS.

My wife and I have done this a couple times now using our trekking poles. I just used a couple small pieces of para cord to tie them to the end of the hammocks. It's worked real good for us so far under our superfly tarp.

While the spreader bar is doable, my wife and I typically use the three tree setup. Feet share a tree and heads have separate trees. We're still using one tarp, we're close to each other, but not so close that any time one moves we bump into each other. I'd say having the two head trees about three to four feet apart is about right. HYOH
