    Newbie from Malaysia

    Hello there.

Im a newbie from Malaysia. Spent my first night out in a hammock with my girl on Sunday and enjoyed it very much. Definitely a converted tent camper.

I first heard of hammock camping from a commercial diver colleague and friend whom owns a Hennesy hammock in Canada. Been looking for a hammock that would suit me for quite some time now. Was considering 2 hammocks, a conventional one for solo trips and a 2-person Vertex by Clark. When Clark put up the Flex 180 model on their website I pulled the trigger without any hesitation.

Wanted to thank all the forum members and moderators for this forum. It's been very helpful and informative and really did help prepare me for our first night out in the woods in a hammock.

Here's a pic of our setup.

    Thank you all once again.

    Welcome.

Whereabouts in Malaysia? I've done some travelling over there but only had the hammock out in Borneo.

Thank you all for the warm welcome..

I have been to the USA in 2006 to help out with the hurricane Katrina remedial works in the gulf of mexico. I visited last year as well for a short business trip. Would love to return with a hammock in my luggage next time :-)

    Hi Broomstickize,

I live in Kuala Lumpur. How did you find Borneo?

I have a mate in the UK who has a Green hornet hammock.

I plan on doing some hammock camping in the UK- in Devon and Scotland (if its possible!) after my Seliger Lake trip in Russia after i get back from work.
