The only one that I could find was
Silicone impregnated ripstop for tents and flysheets.
    Hydrostatic head rating of 900
    Weight Given per linear metre
    Colour
    Olive Green
    Size
    140cm wide
    Weight
    0.098 Kg
Is this head rating good. And the only problem is that the only colour the have is olive green. Link below

I have made several tarps out of this material (silnylon 2nds with hydrostatic head at 2000mm), e.g. this one: http://www.hammockforums.net/gallery...ge.php?i=17195

With the seams sealed with diluted silicon everything works fine for me.

I'm having the same trouble as you, the UK sucks for finding the right raw materials. I've been checking out http://fabrics-n-stuff.co.uk/ and http://www.pennineoutdoor.co.uk/ as both stock ripstop and some waterproof fabrics. Although don't do what I did and get really excited by the Nysil and the cheap Silicone coated ripstop on fabrics-n-stuff, apparently its not properly waterproof. If you don't mind paying the postage then Ameircan ebay has some stuff available as well.

I struggled to find suitable in the UK. I was going to use silnylon from Pro-fabrics but it actually weighs more than PU coated nylon.

After googling, found some 1.5oz pu coated nylon ripstop from a Birmingham vendor which when it came, was perfect and made my now favourite tarp. They have sold out but googling 'Fabric by the metre' and trawling through the results found it.

    Greetings Gents

If you can find regular 1.1oz ripstop nylon, you could always do the DIY silnylon treatment to make it water proof. There is a sticky in the DIY section that details how it is done.

    Cheers
