    In-store source of polypro webbing?

Is there anywhere (ace hardware, wallmart, lowes, homedepot, or similar) that I can buy polypro/polyester webbing by the foot? My dad lost my tree straps last time he used it and I am going out this weekend and need some new straps asap.

Most West Marine stores stock webbing.

Some have been buying ratcheting tie downs and stripping the webbing from them.

i was trying to stray away from using ratchet straps like i have in the past, mostly due to the hooks being heavy and the fact that i do not have a way to cut them off. However I just called all the marine shops in my area and no one seems to stock polyester webbing. So i might just end up using the ratchet straps again

Army Surplus shops may have webbing. Also Harbor Freight carries some "Cam Straps" that you can use. The "cam" portion can be cut off with a hack saw pretty easily.

Scissors or a knife will cut the hooks off. Tie loops in the ends if you don't have a sewing machine to stitch new loops.

The REI store close to me carries it. So if you live near one I would check with them.

I found some straps at wall mart that did not have hooks it had this little buckle that was removed with a little force and some pliers... Black poly strap 900 lb limit.. 10 bucks or so...

That's basically what I did with the harbor freight straps that I have--insert a couple of round files in the buckle, cross them, and pull. The buckles snap right off. Quick, easy, cheap .
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

Just did the same thing today. Picked up straps at HD and put in a vice to open the hooks. Simple, easy and cheap.
