    check out these folks

I watched their videos to learn some knots, but check out their homemade tarp!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aPi13Qi-MU

and the actual tarp design video;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqaSY...hannel&list=UL

Just shows that it does not take a lot of money to still be out the in the woods.

I think this is the best intro tarp, and certainly a simple and easy DIY tarp. I used a painter's plastic cloth for my first 'tarp only' camping excursions (cause I made exactly how I wanted) years ago.

If the piece of plastic you get is double the size you need, then fold it over and cut 2 out at the same time. You don't need to tape both, just keep one cut the way you need away for when you need to make another or need to get a buddy a tarp. I found that the sheets were economical at roughly double the dimension I needed.

I like to make them with clear duct tape so I can see the sun come up in the morning, and see outside better.

well, not to get too much into my personal story but, my parents split up 5 years ago, my father has essentially made it clear he doesn't want anything to do with me. He stole my kx250, so i bought an older yamaha it, had to sell it because gas is expensive and minimum wage doesn't quite pay the bills, I would ride mtb but thats an initial 300$ investment i cant make. I would use a blue tarp but i need small pack down, my bag is small, lol Edit: what kinda trike do you ride?
