Looking for a Place to Hang/Camp near London Ontario

I am driving East from WI to NY and will be passing through London Ontario. I am looking for a place to hang/camp in a park somewhere within an hour of London, hopefully East of there. I would prefer a public park as opposed to a private campground because I don't want to spend a night sandwiched between RVs and trailers. Looking for something a little quieter and off the beaten path. Not looking for a hike in, as I will be traveling and am looking for a place to car camp. Thanks for any suggestions.

Valens conservation area is a favorite for group hangs. It would fit what you're looking for.

Went online to the Valens' site and was unable to tell if there is a fee to camp. Website says there is an $11.00 reservation fee, but doesn't say if that is a fee to stay in a campsite for the night.

Also, looking at the map, it looks to be a rather large area with several different named campgrounds, each with individual numbered sites. Having never been there before, I don't know which campground or numbered site would have trees adequate to hammock hang from. Any suggestions?

    Do they allow dogs?

Lastly, how likely is it the park would be full so we might be out of luck if we don't make a reservation and just take our chances driving in to look for a site?

    Thanks.

Valens does charge for camping. I believe it is $35 per night for a non electric site. The best hammock site is number 134. It will easily hold 20 hammocks. If you're going to hit it on a weekend, it is a good chance it will be busy. Most of us only camp there in winter as the place is practically empty. I believe they allow dogs there. At least I've seen people in the park with dogs when I've been there in the winter.

    Cheers

    Brian

Sorry I could not post sooner. I had some input but you are on your way already. If you can read this on your mobile phone, have fun!
