    New Hanger in the ADK

    Morning!

I've always had a hammock with me for relaxing during the day when I go camping. Every trip I thought why do I sleep on the rough ground at night when this miraculous invention exists. Well, this year I came to my senses and purchased a WBBB with the superfly. Best investment in camping I've ever made.

Since I'm new to the group of enlightened campers I'm glad a site like this exists. I look forward to learning more about this sect of camping and hope I can contribute some by sharing my experiences. Also, If anyone else frequents the Adirondacks, I would love to hear about any great spots you've found. I've been in the Adirondacks every summer for 10+ years so I know of a few as well but I'm sure I have yet to scratch the surface of it's potential!

Hi and welcome to the addiction.

I, too, spend a lot of time in the adks. Hammocks make it easy to camp up there. as you can see, I am from Smugtown too. Always welcoming others to join me when I head out (which is about every other weekend).

Welcome from Carthage... actually transplanted to long island (frown) but i guess I'm lucky to get up to the ADK at least once a year. Welcome again, and a warning...

The DIY section is very addictive

BTW.. get tree hugger extensions .. many of the old pines up there will require them.

My father (Phantomfixer) and I already fell prey to the DIY section. We built two of the DIY hammock stands in his backyard. Surprisingly they turned out quite similar to each other!

Hi DuctTape. Glad to see a fellow enlightened Rochestarian!
