DIY gear supply has recently posted, again 3 designs, which are scalable. And he has included a great set of links including some to drawings and directions for others.

+1 on DIY Gear Supply's patterns (that's what I'm using) There are other ones on the forums too. Also you should read through the Blackcat tarp instructions. It can be found here http://www.teamgunnparker.com/blackc...k_Cat_Tarp.htm and on another site as a PDF download. Here are some other great threads to read.

As stated above, take a look at the DIY Gear Supply sheets.

As to the ridgeline on the hammock, it sets the sag for the hammock, preventing the hammock from over-tightening when its supports are farther apart than is optimal. In essence, it ensures that the hammock stays the same shape no matter what. It can also be used to keep bug netting out of one's face.

If you do a continuous ridgeline for your tarp, on the other hand, that allows the tarp to be shifted back and forth on a single line using either Prusik or Klemheist knots. This allows you to make two knots (or fasten it however you want to the two trees) and then center the tarp by sliding it along the CRL.

    Hope it helps!
