    Upside down Hennessey

Has anyone used their Hennessey upside down as a top entry and then put a quilt underneath? Wondered if it worked ok, with no stress on the netting underneath. Thanx, Bill

Yes, I have, but I'll deny it if you tell anyone. LOL. It was a trip getting out of it, I'll tell you. I was trying to sort of jump up and pull the pad under me better and when I turned on the head lamp the slit was all the way on top. Sure glad no one was with me on that trip. I did a fair amount of cursing. The bugnet did in fact hold up fine. Mule

I got rotated around about 90 degrees once, thought it was just me. Got rid of the darned thing, that bottom slit entry is just too precarious.

I think he's asking if anyone has done it on purpose, as in flip it over and get in like a normal hammock, laying on both the hammock body and the bug net.

It's been done, but you have to disconnect the ridgeline. And the bug net has a different length than the hammock body so it stretches it. It also has a different width so the hammock body doesn't behave the same on the edges. The only person I've heard of doing this for more than an experiment was Coy Boy, and that's b/c his hammock was made wrong in the first place.

    thanx all

was thinking of making an underquilt for my old 2.5 HH. My bro sent it back to me and I suddenly realized I like the extra room from shoulder squeeze. Ive got an overstuffed Pea Pod that I love, but another comparable system for the HH might be considered in a trade.
