Great minds thank alike. Wife, myself, and another couple are doing the same in the Boundry Waters starting that same weekend. We'll be in canoes and there will be some portages. Wife and I did a test run last weekend on our local lake and had a blast (anniversary celebration). Neither of us are paddlers, but we managed about 18 miles the last day heading back. So I'm psyched to say the least.

It was a good time, did the Fish Ponds loop the next morning and got back late last night. Hopefully will catch another one sometime.
And based on our experience, it was rigorously enforced....rigorously..
