Ordered 5 blanks on 7/06/2012. They arrived on 7/12/2012. I washed two, a black and a navy blue and I whipped the ends tonight using the W whipping method. I am waiting for the suspension that I ordered on the Warbonnet site. I want a ridge-line on these hammocks but I don't want to buy an adjustable ridge-line just yet. I used para-cord to whip the ends. Any ideas on what to use for a ridge-line?
Paracord is ok for rl as it doesn't have a lot of force on it.
it's funny, from what I've seen, the navy blue looks more like a royal blue in the pictures.
The Ridgeline doesn't get that much force if you've set your hammock up correctly. I have Zingit on one of mine for the ridgeline. I've got 7/64 Amsteel on my nightly unit but that's just because its what I had at the time. Like Brandon says in the setup instructions, somewhere, you should be able to twist a z into the ridgeline if your angles are correct. If it's too tight you don't have the angle on your suspension high enough.
I've made 2 60x126 double layer hammocks, 1 90x136 double layer, and am about to make a couple 90x156 double layers for the yard just because I can. I did triple sewn end channels, a structural ridge line, and whoopie slings for all of them, and found them very comfortable. Just my own preference, but I like the lay of the taffeta better than my nylon hammocks, and love my 90x136 double. My oldest daughter has even forgone sleeping in her custom bunk bed instead preferring to sleep in her hammock suspended in her room.
They are not the lightest hammocks, but I find them comfortable enough I may haul one of them along on my next backpacking trip to see if it's worth the extra weight.

Made up two tablecloth hammocks over the weekend. Burgundy fort ConnieLou and purple for me. Have only had a chance to try them briefly but I'm likin' 'em so far. Here's a couple of photos of mine...
Made both with ENO-style channel ends with continuous loops and descender rings. Will probably change ConnieLou's rings out for carabiners and some Python Straps or similar (NOT crap straps) so they'll be led 'fiddly'

This is the first DIY project I could every cost-justify over buying from the cottage vendors. I ordered one each of purple, navy blue and black.
I will sew a channel in both ends and run Amsteel continuous loops through them, because I don't like gathered-end whipped hammocks (they're ugly).
I'm gonna make whoopies with Dutch Whoopie Hooks, snag some tree straps from strapworks.com, and I'll be set! These are not lightweight camping hammocks, but should be great for our annual canoe/kayak trip in the Adirondacks in August. I want to turn my sons on to the joys of an 11 ft. hammock and this is a cheap way to do so.
Now I have to figure out bugnets and whether I can find a cost-effective method to DIY. One thing after another.
