Try fronkey's method for a bug net (the sticky on the DIY page). Works great for me in the dacks.

Was at cedar river a week ago, and getting in and out was so fast that I only had 1 or 2 of the adirondack air force make it in with me.

In comparison, my hiking partner uses a zip hennessy, and he's swatting bugs for an hour in his hammock.

Ordering from DIY gear supply will cost you about $25 per bugnet. You could go cheaper with Tulle from walmart, but it's not black fly proof.

I made up 3 of these for the kids, and I've been testing one of them this week as a full-time hang. I used the 60x126 in Sage, and it's a bit bright.

I'm 5'8" and the 60x126 is a bit narrow for me. My feet keep falling out in the middle of the night. If I do one for myself, I'd go with the 90x132 in Chocolate

The 60x126 should be fine for the younger folks, since they have yet to top out at 5'

how do you sleep in your hammock? I'm 5'9" and the 60x126 is plenty wide for me. I would say it's been plenty wide for most people around here. The 90x132 is seen more of as a very large hammock.

CamRuns, I don't have any pics, but I love the turquoise. I ended up getting another one for a friend.

Diagonal, I'd guess about 30 degrees off of the ridgeline center..... Perhaps I need to shorten the ridgeline or something? I'm open to suggestions. Also, It's just wide open, no sewn in bugnet or zippers....

Yeah, what CamRuns said. 60 is plenty wide for most people given you haven't made it too short to get a diagonal lay. Most all DIY fabric is under 60" before hemming and is plenty wide.

How did you attach your suspension? Use up a lot of length in whipping?

Maybe we should see a pic of how you have it hanging.

If you're 5'8" and your feet are popping out of a five ft. wide, 10 ft. long hammock, there's something wrong.

If you have gathered or whipped ends, I'd assume you're using around 3 inches on each end, making your hammock length about 120 inches? Therefore, the ridgeline should be 99.6 inches (83% of 120).

I'm going to make sewn channels on mine - fold over about two inches of fabric and triple stitch it, so my ridgeline would be a little longer, 101.26 inches.

And I always make my ridgelines adjustable, even though I hardly ever adjust them.

I'd make triple stitch channels if I was any good at sewing. Also don't have the kind of table to keep it straight the whole time.
