    UQ material

    ordered some material for an uUQ about a year ago:
    Momentum-T(black), Momentum-MR(green)

    which is the inner shell (agianst hammock) and which is the Outer shell?
    The black has a realy shiney side, in or out ?

    forgot what is what after 6 months

    Shiny side is in. The matte outer surface has far more surface area, so water vapor that condenses on the fabric and is wicked to the outside by capillary action evaporates much faster there. That applies to the outer layer of fabric. I'm not sure which of the two Momentum types is best as the outer layer - probably the one that has the biggest difference between shiny side and matte side, but you should ask the seller. Don't be shy.

    The shiny side goes inside. You will still see the matte side when it is finished.

    It is shiny side in for this and for other calendered fabrics because the process of closing the fabric, called calendering, results in that shine. If it resulted in dull, the dull side would be in.

    The purpose of calendering is containment of fibers -- down or other insulation-- not of water vapor.
