I've been soaking up the hammock knowledge from the forum for a few weeks now. I've waited to introduce myself because today I completed stage 1 of my DIY hammock.
In the last month or so, I learned to make my whoopie slings, made some tree straps and today, having received my inaugural crinkle taffeta 60" X 126" navy blue "hammock", I put on a ridgeline, whipped the ends and commenced my first couple of short test hangs. (Hang #2 came after I decided my first gathering technique could have been better.)
So far, I like it a lot! The hammock is pretty darned comfy, and I'm sure I'll be tweaking as I go along. I've also thoroughly enjoyed the resources made available by HF members. (Shug, love the "How to" vids!)
Anyway, thanks for making such a great repository of information guys. I'm havin' a blast!
