Does WB Superfly tarp require a ridgeline?

Looking into getting a new tarp for my JRB Bridge. Id prefer to get something that does not require a ridgeline. Does this tarp do fairly well without one?

    Thanks

You can tie it up with just lines on the end, but I really prefer mine with a srl outfitted with Dutch hook and tarp flys

It works great without a full ridgeline. That's how I use mine.

when i first got my superfly i set it up with a continual ridge line (paracord) and prusik knots for easy adjustments.. then after the first time the paracord soaked and dripped lightly on me i did away with it and tied two 11' pieces of tech line to the ends. with no ridge line the superfly has worked flawlessly, no worries. check out my pics see for yourself!!

    Hey CFI,
I emailed Brandon a few months ago with a question on what is the best way to hang the superfly. This was his reponse.

"The superfly pitches best when the ridge seam takes all the load, using a seperate ridgeline (over or under) often takes much of the load off the ridge seam of the tarp, so i recommend just going from the end of the tarp to the tree"

I am thinking about trying out one of Dutch's StingerZ on each end, not sure how this will work....

I've never once used a ridgeline with my Superflies. Only time I find a ridgeline useful is when using a tarp that doesn't have a centerline seam.
The Warbonnet Asym-Diamond, for example, is much better with a ridgeline.

The Superfly pitches perfectly with no ridge line.

The Superfly has gros grain on the seam so it acts as a ridgeline. I like hanging all my tarps including my Superfly without a continuous ridgeline.

I use one with mine just for convenience to I can hang it in the snake skin then slide the tarp on the prussics for optimal coverage when I deploy the tarp. Definitely not required, though.
