Hammock in the Dorms

Hey guys well I've found the perfect solution and the way to get around the dorms pesky rules. The school offers a "bedloft" which is basically a cash cow. anyways it fits right in where the bed goes and has a solid steel frame. I can hang diagonally on the frame and have the bed up above. that way I get the bed for "cuddling" and the freaky hammock dungeon. I realized that no matter how I shook it I couldn't fit any kind of stand. I was lucky enough to get a room mate who thinks my exploits are pretty bad ***. As for the duck tape mod that revealed the possibility of bringing my hammock with here it is http://blog.makezine.com/2005/04/05/...-stress-tests/ enjoy.

I'm all for hammocks whenever they make sense...

But dude... you're going into your college years in Miami... take your hammock to the parks and beaches and use it as a conversation starter to meet chicks.

Leave the bed in your room for when you do.


Edit: I'm guessing I may be the only one here that won't give you advice as to how to accomplish this. I'm nearly positive you will get some ideas from others here shortly, so stick around if you really want to do this.

College year; singular. Then I'm headed out to OR to finish up undergrad.

The KAMMOK has some big hammocks in cool colors. It is also a very soft fabric.

I have a banana hammock that impresses the ladies but I don't think that's what you are asking about.

I attached 4 strips on either side to the ceiling, making a loop at the bottom. I then used some clothes line and 2 carabiners to attach the hammock. The whole setup can hold my 200 lb friend (he fell asleep for 4 hrs in it). Under that stress each strip is holding around 25 lbs (assuming the weight was equally distributed, which I did my best to do)"
