I have painted myself into a corner! Need black/red camo ripstop

I have made hammocks for each of my 9 grand kids and presented the last two last night.

The last two kids are the oldest and their dad is a marine. (I don't suppose you are ever an ex-marine even though he is no longer active duty) I made theirs out of the new digital woodland camo and it even had the USMC symbol printed in the fabric.

This brings me to my current dilemma. At the birthday party was one of the grand kids for whom I have already made one and he wants another, but this time in camo, not only camo but red/black camo.

I have spent a good hour searching for a source but to no avail.

Does anyone know of a source of 1.1-1.9 oz ripstop nylon in a red/black pattern? I only need 3 yards and the pattern does not matter. I had thought one of the urban camo patterns might fit but I cannot find anything close.

    Ideas and suggestions are welcome!

The only thing that I could think of would be an arctic white/black digi and dying the white to red. I've heard of people dying nylon, but I hear that it can be difficult.

How about a fleece summer quilt instead:

Where would you hang that red and black camo would be needed?

Introduce grandchild (gently) to the concept of "reality check". Work up to "Try to distinguish between what you need and what you wish you needed." (May take years.)

also might try a compromise (along with said reality check).

Grey camo body and red camo webbing (adj. web suspension/tree straps)?

    Thanks for the ideas.

The reality check may be for me. Do you know how hard it is to tell a grandchild no?

I am going to explore all alternatives before the "no" becomes reality and then with some alternatives.

Tell him if he finds the material, you will make the hammock.

There you go: reality check and wish-fulfillment all in one, with a side order of learning research fundamentals. I like.

Is he a UGA fan? (I hope he is) If so, you might be able to find some UGA printed fabric to make a hammock out of. It won't be camo or ripstop, but he would still probably like in the end

What about a double layer with red and camo. Or camo with red grosgrain for trim
