Do Grip Clips cause damage/wear?

I know they're used by quite a few here but I didn't find my answer in the forums.

Do crip clips cause wear to sil after several uses?

Nope,,not when I used them on a OES 10 x 12 numerous times,,if they slip,,use a piece of latex of a balloon and that will stop slippage.

I had a pair on a SpinnUL tarp for 2 years and another pair on a sil tarp for over a year in the same place.

No issues in either tarp.
