HH Safari and hex tarp in skins ?

All my explorers have Snake Skins and I love them.
I recently purchased the HH Safari with the HH hex tarp.
this is one big hammok and tarp.
will this combo fit in the large hh snake skins ??

    Thanks,
    Slack

Not sure, but I'm thinking it will. The HH Expl UL plus HHSS UC fit inside #4 skins easily.

Edit: oops. I see you were asking about the Safari. That's quite a bit bigger, so maybe not. Let us know what you find out.

Well I have an older safari and I can tell you that the older model will NOT fit let alone the hammock and tarp I had to make my own.
Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night

I use two sets of snake skins. One set for my Safari and the other set just for the hex tarp. At one time I attempted to force the hammock & tarp into one set of snake skins. It was not pretty, very difficult and the end result for me was a failure.

    Thanks,
got word from HH that it's a no go, in fact they said DO NOT attach the hex fly to the hammock, but use seperate suspension.

So would the same problem occur with an explorer deluxe and the 70D hex?

I fit my safari and hex fly in one set of large skins. It's snug, but if you roll it right, it goes pretty easy.

The Hex is 144" or 12' long. Pretty long tarp to attach to the suspension ropes via prusik.

In any case it doesn't make a great deal of sense to store the two in the same set of skins...particularly if the tarp is wet.

When I first had my Deep Jungle (double layer), I tested it...just to see if it could be done. I did, it but was exhausted and could never do so in a quick and effecient manner...and the bundling for storage would have been terrible. This expirement may have been what led me to double ended stuff sacks.

Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

When I use my SS for my safari, the fly stays out. My expedition fits into the SS with the fly too, so I think it's just that the safari is so huge.

I just got my HH Hex fly for my Explorer Deluxe and it fit snugly into my HH snake skins with my hammock. Snugly but still with very little effort.
