Prusik on a small diameter line

For my tarp tie-outs, I'm thinking about using the 1.2mm tech line with a prusik. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of line I should use for the prusik that will grip the 1.2mm line well? Or should I just go for the mini line locs?

Ideally the prusik should be of smaller diametre but it will work if you use the same line. Try three wraps at first and if it slips add another wrap or two. It should hold fine. I use the same cordage for my prusiks as I do for the tarp lines and have had no problems.

Go for the mini line locks. But realize that 1.2 mm is on the edge of their specs.

I use the same size line for the prusic - just add another wrap or two.

I use the 1.2 on my tie outs wrapped prussic five times and it works without any problems and have not experienced any slipage.

PP me $1 and PM me your address, and I'll mail you plenty of heavy waxed polyester 3strand twisted thread. Thread? Yes, but close to .8mm.

$4 will get you, in addition, 40ft of 1mm black polyester 12strand hollow braid leather "thread", with a bs of >75lb. Silky, flexy, and a dream to splice with buries.
