    Video: cuben fiber damage report

On Memorial Day weekend camping outside of Bloomington Indiana; my Hammock Gear 4 Season Cuben Fiber Tarp took a nasty hit from a falling limb.

Please excuse the camera guy he wasn't familiar with this camera. I hope this information will help others that are interested in cuben fiber. The tear has not run, and will be easy to repair with cuben tape. Once I get the tape I'll make a follow-up video on how I did the repair.

    Thanks for watching.

Same here, not able to watch through tapatalk.

I'm interested in your experiences with the cuben tarp. I'm planning on purchasing one, but where I live, we receive lots of high winds and fallen limbs. I thought the cuben material was supposed to be more resisted to this damage.

Ouch! Thanks for posting as I now have 2 HG cuben tarps for me and the wife. I carry cuben self adhesive tape you can get from Joe at Zpacks in the pack for such occasions. Won't deter me from using cuben as I will,,,when and if it happens to me,,just call them battle scars and give me a memory of a special occasion I am guessing.

Clear duct tape makes a great field repair. In fact I have a patch from clear duct tape on my first cuben tarp that has been there 4 years.

Something fairly heavy had to hit the cuben to stretch it out as shown before the tear.

Ouch. Instead of tape I would look into a cuben fiber patch and place one on the inside and outside of the tarp where the puncture is.

I had a puncture in my Z-Packs blast this past trip and taped it up with cuben tape and as good as new. Cause I carry so much cuben now I always carry a 4 by 4 cuben patch along with some cuben tape in my first aid kit.

Let us know how the fix works out for ya.
